Weekly Stellar Meditation at planetarium

The WSU Planetarium is introducing “Stellar Meditation,” in which the planetarium staff will provide guided meditation and seated yoga under the center’s starry dome.

Stellar mediation will explore themes of mindfulness, stress reduction, and intentionality focused on the academic lifestyle.

The sessions will be led by Jordan Wrigley who has completed meditation training in Japan, China and India. Wrigley is also a yoga-teacher-in-training at Aloft Yoga in Pullman and integrates yogic breathing and calming exercises into meditation practices.

Stellar Meditation requires no previous training and is open to all interested individuals. Practices will take place while seated and looking upward into the Planetarium dome. It is recommended that participants bring items to ensure comfort such as warm socks, small blankets and a small neck pillow. A $3 suggested donation to cover operating expenses.

Stellar Meditation will at noon on Wednesday in the WSU Planetarium, Sloan Hall, Room 231.
