The Great Mistake: Trump and the future of higher education

The Foley Institute and the Humanities Planning Group present a free public talk by Christopher Newfield.

Tuesday, Dec. 6 | 4 p.m. | Foley Speaker’s Room | 308 Bryan Hall

The adoption of corporate-like structures in public universities has resulted in students bearing the brunt of the costs. Professor Newfield sheds light on the root of the problem, the lasting effect of economic inequality, and will discuss the impact the Trump administration may have, as well as potential solutions.

Christopher Newfield is professor of literature and American studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Additional support comes from the WSU College of Arts and Science, the College of Education, and Departments of English and History.
