PERS 2 Members Can Choose to Join PERS 3 in January

Every January PERS 2 members who established membership prior to March 1, 2002 have the opportunity to transfer to PERS 3.

To help you determine if this may be a prudent change for you, WSU is offering presentations on January 21, 2015 which will provide information about the differences between PERS 2 and PERS 3. Visit “Current Benefit Events” on the Human Resource Website at http://hrs.wsu.edu/Benefits for more information, including the location of the presentation, and the times they are offered.

Additional resources you may wish to review include:

To utilize the Online Comparison Tool, you will need your current account balance, which can be accessed under “Your Retirement Account” or by contacting DRS at 800-547-6657 or recep@drs.wa.gov.

To transfer to PERS 3, which will be an irrevocable decision, complete a Member Information Form and submit it to Human Resource Services no later than January 31, 2015. The form is also available at the Pullman HRS Office at 139 French Administration Building.

If you miss this opportunity, you will have to wait until next January 2016 for the next transfer window. If you have questions or need additional information regarding the annual PERS transfer you can call the Pullman HRS office at 509-335-4521 or email hrs@wsu.edu.

Videoconferencing is available to all sites. If your location is not already listed on the AMS Events Calendar, please contact AMS at ams.vc.meeting@wsu.edu to request videoconferencing.
