Registration is now open for the National Center for Biotechnology Information’s Functional Genomics Workshop.

Los Angeles-based artist Arshia Fatima Haq will deliver the 2020 Jo Hockenhull Distinguished Visiting Lecture in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 5, at WSU Pullman.

WSU physics professor Philip Marston will present a free, public talk, “Decades of Acoustical, Optical, and Fluid Wave Physics with Students and Associates,” at 4:10 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27, on the Pullman campus.

TSA Pre‑Check offers the ability to bypass normally slow-moving security lanes in favor of an expedited one. By going through the TSA Pre‑Check lane, passengers no longer have to remove shoes, the 3‑1‑1 liquid compliant bag, laptops, light outerwear/jackets, and belts.

A WSU Libraries’ display in Terrell Library, running through Feb. 14, delves into the Census and its impact on the nation’s inhabitants.

The Bellhop was a longstanding fundraiser that ran from the 1940s to the 1980s and was revived in 2017. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the CUB Senior Ballroom. The public is invited.

The WSU Horticulture Club will hold its Valentine’s Day plant sale 10 a.m.–2 p.m., Thursday and Friday, Feb. 13–14 at the greenhouses by Ferdinand’s Ice Cream Shoppe on the Pullman campus.

Jazz Northwest, the Washington State University faculty ensemble, will present the concert “Collective Excellence” at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11 in Kimbrough Concert Hall, as part of the WSU Faculty Artist Series.

The proposal would affect the Pullman campus only and provide funds for capital projects addressing maintenance and repairs for campus parking garages and surface parking lots.

A new era of cooperation between WSU and Pullman began Tuesday with a formal agreement to work toward a vibrant and welcoming downtown.
